Hi all,
Thanks for coming out to help me celebrate my new release, Falling Hard (Eight Second Ride Book 1)
Blurb
Meet two champion bull riders--macho, muscled Marlboro Men, confident, cocksure cowboys--from their struggle for survival in the rodeo arena, and 8 seconds of fame on the back of a 2000 lb bull to their most private encounters behind closed doors where their world is about to explode…
Levi Bond is a seasoned pro, competing for the World Championship. Bull riding is what gets his adrenaline pumping, his heart racing, and makes him feel like a million bucks. That, and the idea of getting it on with Curt Walsh, one of the up and coming stars of the bull riding circuit. Powerfully attracted, Curt’s confused and unsure which way he wants his life to go. Will Levi still be around, available and interested when the final decision is made?
Get set for a wild ride in this cowboy romance, sizzling with intense desire, unbridled passion, and unexpected emotion as Levi and Curt, drawn together like mega magnets, battle not only life threatening, white knuckled action in the arena, but cruelty and bias outside it. The prospect of falling in love is as terrifying as staying on the bull without it killing them!
Excerpts
Excerpt 1
Curt watched Levi from the corner of his eye as he tried to keep his focus on the sports program playing on the television. He wondered if his friend was in a lot of pain. He didn’t appear to be, but he knew Levi well enough that, like any other rider, they hid their pain well. If Doc thought they were in too rough of a condition to ride, he made it well known they would be doing it against his advice.
He drained his beer and signaled for the waitress to bring him another. Tonight he wasn’t in the mood for company of any sort. Thus, the reason he’d blown off the brunette who’d sat down with him. Not that she wasn’t pretty or anything, but tonight he didn’t feel up to entertaining.
His ride this weekend earned him a little cash. The big winner was Levi. He’d taken home the first prize for the week. If I’m going to make finals, I need to get my shit together and ride.
He hurt all over. His body telling him he needed a break. With only a few weeks left to qualify, he couldn’t afford to stop. None of the riders could if they wanted to be in the finals. Vegas was coming up fast and furious.
Man, he wanted to go home for some rest. Texas called to him. The family place called to him. A break sounded wonderful and he knew his parents would like to see him. The finals screamed his name this year though. The ranch could wait. He had a good foreman and friend watching the place for him while he did his thing.
His heart felt heavy. Someday he wanted a partner, a spouse to run the place with him, but he knew that would be a long time coming. His preference in sexual partners made it difficult to settle down. He didn’t want just one, he had a mind for two.
Curt didn’t know Levi’s sexual preferences, but he had an idea. They’ve never discussed it like so many men do on the circuit, but he’d also never seen Levi with a woman. Not that he couldn’t be married or something and just didn’t pickup buckle bunnies on a regular basis. Curt was almost sure Levi liked cock, funny thing was, so did he. He liked both actually. Pussy was nice on occasion too. There weren’t too many women who got off seeing two guys together though. Any woman like that would be special, he knew. Oh well, he would know when the time was right if there was to be a woman in the mix. Right now, he wanted a nice tight asshole to plunder.
His gaze swung to Levi again as his friend leaned against the bar. Levi glanced his way and did the chin tip thing guys do as he raised his beer in salute. Curt waved him over. If nothing else, they could share a beer or two and go their separate ways at the end of the night, never knowing which way things might work should they actually discuss their sexual preferences in detail.
Levi pushed off the bar and sauntered toward him, his hips doing a slow shift as he walked. The man was built and ready for a ride if Curt knew anything at all. Tall at about six foot, broad in the shoulders and lean in the hips, he had the perfect body for a bull rider. His dark hair hung barely below his ears and his green eyes made Curt think of new sprouts. He wasn’t sure what Levi’s nationality was if anything other than white. His features didn’t support any specific nationality like American Indian, African American or anything besides good old Caucasian.
Levi was good. He’d been on the circuit quite a few years, longer than Curt had been by just a few though. Curt joined the professional tour about five years past now and Levi had been one of the best even then. This year Levi had a chance at the world finals and so did Curt. They both were hoping for a string of good rides to keep them in the running for the title.
“What’s up?” Levi ask, coming to a stop next to the table.
“Not much. You?”
“Nothing here either.” Levi tipped his chin up. “Did you want me to join you?”
“Yeah. I figured you looked lonely over there all by yourself. I’m just sitting here chilling until my body unwinds from the adrenaline rush. Drinking a beer. Checking out the pickings in the bar. You know.”
“Yep.” Levi brought his beer to his lips, taking a couple of long swallows.
Curt swallowed hard as he watched the other man’s Adams apple bob with each sip. His groin tightened uncomfortably behind the fly of his jeans. Thank God, the table is hiding my hard-on.
“You did awesome today on the back of that final bull. Great ride.”
Levi set his beer on the table. “Thanks. You got a good score on yours too.”
“Not good enough to beat you though.”
Levi smiled, showing off a gorgeous grin. Curt had the insane urge to bite Levi’s lower lip. The growl rumbling in his chest almost came out between his lips, but he managed to suppress it before he gave himself away. He wasn’t sure he wanted to reveal his attraction to the other man, just yet. He’d have to be careful. Gay action on the circuit could ruin a man’s career if it ever got out. The other guys might be a bit weirded out if they found out one of their riding buddies was gay or bi-sexual as in his case.
Excerpt 2
Curt pushed his plate away and leaned back in the seat. Levi got the impression he was totally relaxed in his element. “If I’m totally off base here, let me know, but I get the distinct feeling you are into me.”
Levi swallowed hard. What the hell is he getting at? “I’m not sure what you mean, Curt.”
“I mean you want to fuck me.”
Aw, hell. Levi blew out a breath, hesitating several seconds to gain the nerve to admit his sexual preference to the man across the table after keeping it a secret for so long. “Okay. Yes, I’m gay. I like men. I like you, but I get the feeling you are into women.”
“I am.”
“Then no worries. I won’t try anything with you. I’m okay with it.”
Curt leaned in toward the table. “Easy man. I’m bi.”
“You’re what?”
“Bi-sexual. I like both men and women depending on my moods. Today, I like men. Yesterday, I was into the two women in my room, but it ended up being a lady-fest so I watched. I got off on that too.”
“Wow. All right then.” Shock did a little dance down his spine. Curt did like men. Did he like him enough to want to fuck though? “So what exactly are you saying?”
“I want to be balls deep in your ass tonight,” Curt whispered loud enough only he heard him. “Got a problem with that?”
Levi shivered in anticipation. “Nope.”
“Good.”
Levi wanted Curt’s full lips wrapped around his cock more than anything in the world, but if he would actually have his fantasy man deep in his ass, he couldn’t wait for the night to come.
After they paid their bills, they walked casually across the street to their hotel. Their steps grew rushed as they approached the door to their room. Levi pulled out the key card to open the door, but before he could slide it in, Curt grabbed him by the shoulder, spun him around and crushed his mouth against Levi’s. Teeth gnashed, lips melded, and tongues danced as Curt pinned him to the door.
When Curt finally moved back, their breaths came out in ragged pants of desire and need.
“Let me open the door.”
“Yeah.”
Levi’s hands shook as he tried to slide the key card into the lock. It took a couple of tries to get the card to work.
“Easy, cowboy. We got all night.”
Levi glanced over his shoulder as he opened the door. “Anticipation is gonna kill me.”
Curt gave him a crooked little smile that made his balls ache.
The door no more than banged shut before Curt was all over him, pulling at his clothes, unzipping his pants, and pushing both his shorts and jeans down.
“I want this cock.”
“It’s yours. Suck me.”
Curt dropped to his knees in front of Levi. “I’ve wanted to suck this for months.” Curt dove in, taking Levi’s entire cock in his mouth. Levi wasn’t necessarily a big man as far as cocks go, but having Curt deep throat him was enough to drive him up on his toes.
“Easy there,” Curt whispered against his flesh as he licked his cock from base to tip. “Such a beautiful cock. You are one gorgeously endowed man.”
“I want to see you.”
“In a minute. I’m worshipping this magnificent piece of flesh here first. You’ll get your chance.” Curt sucked, licked, and swirled his tongue around and around Levi’s cock.
Levi’s leg shook from trying to hold back his orgasm. He need to come so bad, he felt like his head was about to explode out the end of his dick. “Please. I can’t handle it anymore.”
“Your turn, but first, in the shower,” Curt said, getting to his feet as he began working the buttons on his shirt.
Within seconds, his clothes lay in a heap near Levi’s shirt as he worked his boots and jeans off as well.
“I plan to fuck you clear into tomorrow.”
Levi headed for the bathroom, hoping the shower was big enough for the both of them, but if not, they would have to migrate to the bed. He didn’t care, either way. He leaned in to turn on the shower. Curt grabbed his hips, rubbing his hard cock along the crack of his ass.
“Are you ready for me?”
“Hell yeah. I’ve been ready for months.”
“Me too.”
“Why didn’t you say something sooner?” Levi asked, turning to face him. “We could have been fucking already.”
Curt kissed him lightly on the mouth. “I wasn’t sure about you. I’d heard rumors, but nothing solid. You keep to yourself very well, so I had to make double sure before I approached you.”
Once the door was open on the stall, they both stepped in under the spray of the hot water. Curt opened the soap and lathered his hands until they were slick. His hands were everywhere on Levi’s body, smoothing over his chest, down between his legs, around to his ass, washing every inch of his body before he murmured, “Rinse.”
Levi turned toward the water, letting it cascade over his face, neck, and chest as he felt Curt kneel in the shower stall and bite at his ass. He’d never felt anything so erotic in his life.
“Such a nice ass to fuck.”
Curt spread his cheeks, kneading the twin globes in his hands as he licked and bit at the flesh of his butt. One finger rimmed his back hole, pushing in to the first knuckle. “You are tight, my friend.”
“It’s been a while.”
“You’re going to feel magnificent around my cock.” Levi clenched his ass around Curt’s finger. “Oh yeah. You like the sound of that, don’t you?”
“Fuck.”
“We will do that too.”
Levi closed his eyes as he pushed back against Curt’s fingers. He thought back, realizing it had been several months since he’d had sex, and man, was he primed to go off in seconds after Curt penetrated his ass. He wouldn’t be able to hold back for very long even though he wanted to ream Curt’s ass, too, before the night was over.

Westerns galore!
Do you like westerns? I love them myself. Of course, that may be the reason I write them.
What do you like about the western cowboy? Do you like contemporary or historical westerns?
I've written them both, but I think I like the contemporary westerns the best. I like to be able to torture my cowboys a little before letting them have their happily ever after. There is something about the cowboy that does it for me. I'm not sure if it's the way they are with their women, how they dress or the hard working attitude. Maybe a little of everything.
No, I'm not married to a cowboy although I've brought him kicking and screaming into my world with 4 horses, 3 dogs and 2 cats. We do love our animals. I'm particularly fond of my horses. I have 2 Tennessee Walker mutts and 2 retired racehorses I got from a friend who could no longer keep them. We have our little 6 acre ranch with our old farmhouse and I'm happy as a little pig in a mud hole. So I'll keep writing my cowboys into their stories, finding them the love of their life and torturing them just a little before they get their happiness in the end.
Here is a little snippet of my upcoming release in my Cowboy Dreamin' series. This is Jeremiah and Callie's story.
Blurb
Jeremiah Young has been
Callie Lewis’s full-on crush from the time she was a freshman in high
school and he tutored her in Math, now they are both grown ups trying to find
their way in the world. Can she convince herself he is her Forever
Kind of Cowboy before he walks away?
Jeremiah does the finances
for Thunder Ridge. He’s managed to build quite a little nest egg for himself
and his family over the last few years with smart investments, but he wants to
make sure he can take care of a family before he puts his feet in that pool.
Callie has been a friend all these years so when did she grow up to be a
gorgeous woman?
Can two stubborn,
individualistic people come together to build a lifetime of love or will their
pride and goals get in the way of a forever kind of love?
Come on by my facebook event on 6/28 and help me celebrate the release of Forever Kind of Cowboy. I'm giving away a $50 Amazon GC. https://www.facebook.com/events/691075064271506/
Also, with this post I'll give everyone who comments a free copy of Make Mine a Cowboy signed ebook. Leave a comment and your email addy to win!
Love you all!

Contemporary Romance
Do you like contemporary romance? Me too. Thus the reason I write it although I do write historical too or I did. I haven't in awhile.
Contemporary romance is nice because to me, it's easier to imagine myself in the heroines shoes living the life of the tortured victim saved by the gorgeous hero. For me the hero is always an alpha cowboy. LOL I know, big surprise, eh?
In my latest WIP, I'm writing about one of the Young brothers in my Cowboy Dreamin' series. This will be book 5 and so far the one winning the race for my attention is Jeremiah. He's the financial planner/investor for the family and the ranch. He's the money man and boy does he do a good job for both himself and his family.
Unfortunately, he's stubborn as is all alpha males, right? He think he knows what is best and for now, it's not Callinda Lewis who he has known since he was a little kid. They grew up together, went to high school together, but he has never thought of her as anything other than a cute nerdy sort of girl who likes lots of things boys like. She's into cars, four-wheelers, fishing, hunting, and hanging out. They aren't really best friends or anything, but he's always considered her a friend. She's always wanted more.
Well they start hanging out together as friends more, until Jeremiah has a chance to get laid by a guest at the ranch and stands up Callie on their date out at The Dusty Boot.
Anyway, let's just say, Callie is not a happy camper and tells Jeremiah off.
So far the attraction sparks are there, but Jeremiah is scared of the depth of his attraction to Callie and she's pissed because he stood her up.
This should be an interesting story when it's all said and done.
For now, I'll leave you with my inspiration for Jeremiah and let you drool of this mighty fine young man until the book releases in June.
For this post, leave me a comment about your ultimate alpha hero in a contemporary romance and I'll pick 5 winners to receive the first book in the series, Make Mine a Cowboy in signed ebook format.
Mesa Arraguso writes about hot cowboys for a living. Being a romance writer has it perks and its drawbacks. She spends a lot of time alone in front of her computer, but she gets to fantasize about incredibly hot men wearing cowboy boots and Stetsons. While visiting San Antonio, Texas for a writer’s conference, she finds herself stranded on the back roads of Bandera only to be rescued by one of the most gorgeous men she’s ever encountered, be it fantasy or for real.
Joel Young is a cowboy. From the top of his Stetson to the tip of his dirty cowboy boots, he’s cowboy through and through. Along with rescuing women when they do silly things like running out of gas miles from town on a dirt road, he spends his days herding cattle, fixing fences and breaking horses.

Supporting Wounded Warriors!

Hi everyone,
Today's post is all about Wounded Warriors. I'm a big supportive of this cause since my husband is retired military. He was in the Air Force for 20 years and spent plenty of time overseas. Luckily, he was never hurt in the line of duty, but there are plenty of men and women out there who have. There is a continuing need for services for these folks.
So for every comment on this blog over this weekend, I will donate a dollar to Wounded Warriors.
Also, if you comment, I will give away a signed ebook copy of Make Mine a Cowboy, so comment away while we help some guys and gals who need us and get into the drawing for a signed ebook of my first book in the Cowboy Dreamin' Series.

What to blog about?

SCP BLOG HOP!
So what to blog about? Hmm.
Even as authors we struggle for things to talk about on blogs that don't sound stupid or the same thing everyone else talks about, our books. We can talk about those all day long, but I'm sure you'd like something a little different.
How about the inspiration behind out characters? Where do we get our ideas? I've heard that question more times than I care to admit to I'll spill my secrets.
I'm always looking for inspiration for my characters. I love pictures of cowboys, especially without a shirt. I do like my guys in Wranglers, but Levi's will do too. I like guys in cowboy hats, boots, and jeans. Sorry, that's just me, but I get inspiration from a lot of different places. Watching people at the grocery store, at the airport or a couple walking past. Maybe two people who only connect with their gaze while they are standing in line somewhere. It can be anything, anyone, anywhere as an idea begins to form.
What happens if I don't have an idea? That happens too. I'm currently struggling with an idea for a cowboy Christmas romance. I'm writing a short story for a romance in an anthology along with some very talented ladies including Becky McGraw, Sable Hunter, and Desiree Holt. Do have an idea of what I'm going to write? Not a frickin' clue! I must brainstorm this weekend on a story line that hasn't been done to death.
I'm also being called to the new Jayne Rylon/Mari Carr book called Hope Springs. It's sitting on my Kindle as we speak, calling my name. I love the Compass Brothers/Compass Girls series and it's killing me not to read it. Maybe if I write ten thousand words tomorrow on this new story, I'll reward myself with the book. :-)
So what do we do when we don't have an idea on a story? We punt!
As for now, here is the blurb and a teaser for my new book, Healing a Cowboy's Heart. I'll give away a free pdf to three lucky commenters on this blog of Make Mine a Cowboy which is the first in this series, so be sure to leave a comment to win.

Jeffery Young is tired of women and their games. His son’s mother did enough damage to his heart to last a lifetime. Now, he had to deal with the architect helping the land developers tear up the local ranches for their houses. Not on his watch.
Terri Kennedy had her own plans. As the architect for a large land development in Bandera Texas, the deal would put her business on the map, but dealing with the stubborn, bullheaded male from the local ranch didn’t come with her job description. Maybe staying on their guest ranch would give her some clues as how to handle Mr. Stubborn Jackass.
Will the secrets she’s harboring keep him from getting close?
Can he learn to trust women again or should be play the game to find out what’s she’s up to?

Story Excerpt
Jeff hopped out of the truck, slamming the door behind him. “Who the hell are you? What are you doin’ on Thunder Ridge land?”
A petite blonde stood next to a larger guy he recognized from the land surveyors office in town. He noticed right away how her hair caught the sunlight, bouncing it off the curls when she turned to face him. Green eyes the color of spring grass gazed at him behind the small round glasses perched on her nose.
“Excuse me?”
“What are you doin’ on my land?”
“Surveying. What does it look like?”
The woman sounded way too damned perky for his taste. “Who are you?” He turned to face the man from town. “George, what’s goin’ on here?”
“We’re doin’ a land survey, Jeff.” George motioned to the woman next to him. “This here is Terri Kennedy.”
“Nice to meet you.” She held out her hand, but he ignored it with a scowl.
“No one ordered a survey of our land. You don’t need to be on our property.”
“It’s not for Thunder Ridge. It’s for the new development.” George looked uncomfortable as he shifted back and forth on his feet.
“Get the hell off my property,” Jeff snarled. “We ain’t supportin’ the developers takin’ over the ranch land out here.”
“We have a right to use this road to survey the property boundaries. It’s a county road.”
“Not as long as you’re off the blacktop, it ain’t. It’s Young property.”
“Is he correct, Mr. Scott? Is this private property beyond the blacktop?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Well then, we shall move to the blacktop area.” She stomped her booted feet as she moved twenty feet up the road. Her curvy little ass bounced with each step, emphasizing the cute roundness much to his chagrin. “Now, we can continue where we left off. I’m sure you can make the adjustments to the measurements.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
The little smirk on her kissable lips drove his anger higher. He didn’t want to notice anything about the woman, but here he stood watching everything about her. “Fuck.”
“Did you say something?”
“No, ma’am. Get your business done and get off this road.”
“You know you don’t have to be so surly. I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m here as the architect for Meyer, Jessup and Cole.”
Jeff moved closer. Something about her pissed him off. Was it the development or her in general? He didn’t care. She needed to leave and leave fast. “Whoever they are.”
“They are the firm handling the land development in this area.”
“We don’t want a damn development here. We have plenty of problems with not enough open land for the wildlife around here. Having houses will take away the natural habitat.”
“I’m sorry, sir, but there isn’t anything I can do about it. I’m only here to make sure the surrounding property the developers bought will be able to handle the architecture they are planning to build.”
“Just get done and get out of here. If you ain’t gone before I get back, I’ll have you arrested for trespassin’.”
“Try it, buddy! We aren’t on your property now.”
“You were lady,” he growled, spinning on his booted heel and heading back to his truck. “Damn infuriatin’ woman. Who the hell does she think she is? This is our property. She doesn’t belong out here in her fancy shit-kickers, her designer jeans or her fancy western shirt. Like her outfit would make her fit in. Ha!”
Adult Excerpt
His cock hard between their straining bodies kicked up her desire to raging. She could feel every inch of him against her stomach. Water clung to his lashes, making them looked like diamonds in the sunlight. The man was beautiful.
Silence stretched between them. She wasn’t sure what to do. She wanted to feel his mouth against her again, feel the heat raging between them. “Kiss me.”
“I shouldn’t.”
“But you want to.”
“Yeah, I do.”
“Then do it.” She sucked in a ragged breath, blowing it out on a sigh. “Afraid?”
He dragged her closer still. “I’m not afraid of you.”
The hard plains of his chest brushed against her peaked nipples. Her whole body ached from wanting to be closer, needing to be closer. “You’re afraid of what you want to do to me. You think because we’re supposed to be enemies, you shouldn’t want to fuck me.”
“I don’t want to fuck you.”
She tossed back her hair and laughed. “Have you got a salami in your pocket then?”
“Fine,” he growled. “I want to fuck you until the sun drops in the western sky. I want to bury myself in your sweet heat and let you scald me until this need for you burns out like a blue flame.”
“Then do it cowboy. Right here, right now.”
He picked her up by the waist and she wrapped her legs around his middle. She wanted this, needed this more than her next breath. Ever since she’d first run into this tortured, lonely man, she’d wanted to hold him, comfort him and fuck him into tomorrow.
The fine gravel lining the edges of the pond bit into her back when he laid her down. His fingers made quick work of the front of her shirt, parting it to reveal her water soaked bra to his gaze. “Beautiful.”
He took her nipple into his mouth, sucking it through the sheer fabric of her bra. Her whole body hummed as he bit the flesh. “Ah, God.” Within seconds, he had her bra open and her breasts revealed to his scorching gaze.
The warmth of the sun quickly dried the water on her skin as he peeled open her jeans. The wet fabric clung to her, making it difficult for him to work his hand into the parted material. A brush of his fingers over her throbbing nub shot her straight into mega arousal. “Please, Jeff.”
“You’re so slick.”
“I want you inside me.” He worked his fingers into her grasping pussy while his thumb worked her clit.
“I want you to come for me.”
“Now? But…”
“You can do it. I feel your body vibrating around my fingers.”
He stroked her clit quickly. Her body shot straight through the buildup to orgasm in seconds flat. Her scream of his name bounced off the rocks around them, drifting off on the wind as she slowly came back down, blinking in surprise at the intensity of her orgasm.
“You’re beautiful when you come.”

Writing cowboys!
Since this blog hop is about westerns, I thought I'd write about writing westerns! Hey, what a concept, huh?
I do love to write westerns. They are my favorite book to right. No, I don't have to do a lot of research on them while I'm writing, because I know cowboys, horses, ranching to some extent and since it's part of who I am, I'm comfortable writing it.
Where do I get my ideas? I get them from everywhere. I hear a song and it'll spark an idea. I see a person at the airport and it'll spark an idea. Many of my stories have come from song titles or pictures. I currently have two pictures on my office wall. One is a group of 9 cowboys. No, they don't all look like they are related, but they sparked the idea for Cowboy Dreamin'. 3 of them look like they could be triplets, thus my triplets in the series, Joel, Jason and Joshua. Only Joel has his own story right now.
That brings me to the other picture on my wall. It's of a guy who is Joel to me. He has the most amazing blue eyes! Wow! I mean really, wow!
Sorry, I can't find the picture on my computer right at the moment.
Anyway, the guys in this series are a complicated bunch. Jeff's the oldest and his story will release in late August called Healing the Cowboy's Heart. Joel's is already out called Make Mine a Cowboy. (which I'm giving away a three signed ebooks to three lucky winners so leave a comment!)
Now for a few questions from me ~
What do you look for in a cowboy romance?
Do you want lots of western stuff in your cowboy romance?
Does the hero have to be a cowboy?
Give me your opinion!
Love you all!

Romancing the Cowboy with Sandy Sullivan!
Who here likes cowboys? *raises hand*
I write both historical and contemporary westerns.
Erotic westerns but also sweeter. My historical’s are on the sweet side. To me
it wasn’t normal to have them going at it hardcore with a historical
background. LOL
Anyway, what do we love about cowboys?
Me. I like the way they talk. The ma’am, darlin’,
honey make my panties melt. I also like the way they handle themselves. A real
man is tough as nails when it comes to the things he needs to take care of, but
is as soft as a fluffy bunny with his lover.
There is something special about the cowboy and I try
to capture it in every book I write. I hope I’m getting there if not there
already.
What do you like about cowboys?
Comment here to win a copy of my brand new release
coming 6/5 called Make Mine a Cowboy. I’m going to put a blurb and excerpt
below. I'll pick a winner Monday morning at 8am central time. Good luck!
Enjoy!

Blurb
Mesa Arraguso writes about hot
cowboys for a living. Being a romance writer has it perks and its drawbacks.
She spends a lot of time alone in front of her computer, but she gets to
fantasize about incredibly hot men wearing cowboy boots and Stetsons. While
visiting San Antonio, Texas for a writer’s conference, she finds herself
stranded on the back roads of Bandera only to be rescued by one of the most
gorgeous men she’s ever encountered, be it fantasy or for real.
Joel Young is a cowboy. From the top
of his Stetson to the tip of his dirty cowboy boots, he’s cowboy through and
through. Along with rescuing women when they do silly things like running out
of gas miles from town on a dirt road, he spends his days herding cattle,
fixing fences and breaking horses.
Can one handsome cowboy and a
city-girl from LA find common ground is the Hill Country long enough to see
beyond a quick fling?
Excerpt
A moment later a tap, tap, tap on her window startled her
out of her thoughts. She jumped and screamed as a face appeared near her door. Blue
eyes with long lashes stared back beneath a black cowboy hat. Black hair
ruffled slightly with the wind.
“Ma’am? Are you all right?”
“I’m fine.”
“You need to get this car out
of the water. You’ll be washed away. It’s rising fast.”
“I can’t. I’m out of gas.”
“Open the door.”
“Hell, no. Do I look crazy to
you?” she asked, her voice shrill with terror.
“Trust me. If I were a serial
killer, I wouldn’t be out in this shit trying to find women to abduct. I’m
going to help you, but you need to get out of the car first before we’re both
swept away.”
Mesa bit her lip. Should she
trust him?
“Ma’am?”
“All right.” She eased open
the door to find the water almost reached the bottom of the car. The cowboy
pulled the door the rest of the way as she grabbed her purse.
“We have to hurry,” he said, offering
her a hand to help her from the car. “Let me help you. This water is rushing
pretty fast.”
A red horse stood patiently
several feet away with its head down, riding out the storm the only way horses
knew how. A cowboy on a real horse out here in the middle of nowhere? Surely, it’s
safe. I mean serial killers don’t ride horses, right?
Excerpt 2
She stepped aside to allow
him into the room. “Just set it on the bed and I’ll unpack it in a minute.” She
told him to sit on the edge of the bed as she took a spot between his spread
thighs. She exhaled forcibly through her lips so she could focus on the task at
hand and not his hard thighs now encasing her lower half. The cut on his lip
didn’t look too deep. With her finger inside the cloth, she dabbed at the cut.
“Ouch.”
“Sorry.”
“It’s okay. I know you didn’t
mean to hurt me.”
He winced as she dabbed again.
It had to hurt, she knew but all she could think about was kissing those full
lips. She wanted to see his eyes dark with desire. Feel his hands on her bare
flesh. Have those lips on other places of her body like her breasts, her
nipples, or her clit.
“You okay?” he whispered,
glancing up through those impossibly long eyelashes.
“Yeah.” Her heart pounded
behind her ribcage.
“Your pulse is fluttering.”
“I know.”
“Why?” His voice continued in
a soft, coaxing tone reminding her of how he spoke to the horse while she gave
birth to her foal.
“It’s nothing, Joel.”
“Do you want me to kiss you?”
She closed her eyes and
licked her lips. God, do I ever want you
to kiss me. More than my next breath. More than a winning lottery ticket. More
than…
The next thing she knew, he
had twisted her around so she lay flat on the bed with him hovering over her.
He bent down and brushed his lips against hers so softly she wasn’t sure if he’d
actually kissed her.
“You shouldn’t be doing
this.”
“I know.”
He kissed her again, this
time with his tongue softly brushing her lips as if to ask for permission to
deepen it. Her lips parted of their own accord without her even thinking beyond
how his lips felt against hers. The dip of his tongue tore a moan from her
mouth. She tangled her hands in the front of his western shirt, wanting nothing
more than to remove the barrier between his skin and hers.
The fire burning in her gut
prompted her to return kiss for kiss, touch for touch. The caress of his
fingers against the side of her breast brought her straight up on the bed,
breaking the kiss.

As
the water began rising rapidly she realized she needed to get the hell out of
her car before it was washed away. In the distance she could make out several
larger rocks. "If I can get on top of them, I should be safe from the
rush. Of course, that means I'll be out in the rain getting soaked.” Fear rose,
threatening to choke her with the lump in her throat. She rubbed her arms
trying to calm the chills while deciding what to do. She really didn’t have
much choice. Water ran in rivulets down the windshield. Lightning continued to
flash and thunder rolled over the area. She sucked in a large breath as she bit
her lip.
A
moment later a tap, tap, tap on her
window startled her out of her thoughts. She jumped and screamed as a face
appeared near her door. Blue eyes with long lashes stared back beneath a black
