Supporting Wounded Warriors!

Hi everyone,

Today's post is all about Wounded Warriors. I'm a big supportive of this cause since my husband is retired military. He was in the Air Force for 20 years and spent plenty of time overseas. Luckily, he was never hurt in the line of duty, but there are plenty of men and women out there who have. There is a continuing need for services for these folks.

So for every comment on this blog over this weekend, I will donate a dollar to Wounded Warriors.

Also, if you comment, I will give away a signed ebook copy of Make Mine a Cowboy, so comment away while we help some guys and gals who need us and get into the drawing for a signed ebook of my first book in the Cowboy Dreamin' Series.

Make Mine a Cowboy (Cowboy Dreamin' 1)

Blurb:

Mesa Arraguso writes about hot cowboys for a living. Being a romance writer has it perks and its drawbacks. She spends a lot of time alone in front of her computer, but she gets to fantasize about incredibly hot men wearing cowboy boots and Stetsons. While visiting San Antonio, Texas for a writer’s conference, she finds herself stranded on the back roads of Bandera only to be rescued by one of the most gorgeous men she’s ever encountered, be it fantasy or for real.

Joel Young is a cowboy. From the top of his Stetson to the tip of his dirty cowboy boots, he’s cowboy through and through. Along with rescuing women when they do silly things like running out of gas miles from town on a dirt road, he spends his days herding cattle, fixing fences and breaking horses.

Can one handsome cowboy and a city-girl from LA find common ground in the Hill Country long enough to see beyond a quick fling?

What to blog about?

SCP BLOG HOP!

So what to blog about? Hmm.

Even as authors we struggle for things to talk about on blogs that don't sound stupid or the same thing everyone else talks about, our books. We can talk about those all day long, but I'm sure you'd like something a little different.

How about the inspiration behind out characters? Where do we get our ideas? I've heard that question more times than I care to admit to I'll spill my secrets.

I'm always looking for inspiration for my characters. I love pictures of cowboys, especially without a shirt. I do like my guys in Wranglers, but Levi's will do too. I like guys in cowboy hats, boots, and jeans. Sorry, that's just me, but I get inspiration from a lot of different places. Watching people at the grocery store, at the airport or a couple walking past. Maybe two people who only connect with their gaze while they are standing in line somewhere. It can be anything, anyone, anywhere as an idea begins to form.

What happens if I don't have an idea? That happens too. I'm currently struggling with an idea for a cowboy Christmas romance. I'm writing a short story for a romance in an anthology along with some very talented ladies including Becky McGraw, Sable Hunter, and Desiree Holt. Do have an idea of what I'm going to write? Not a frickin' clue! I must brainstorm this weekend on a story line that hasn't been done to death.

I'm also being called to the new Jayne Rylon/Mari Carr book called Hope Springs. It's sitting on my Kindle as we speak, calling my name. I love the Compass Brothers/Compass Girls series and it's killing me not to read it. Maybe if I write ten thousand words tomorrow on this new story, I'll reward myself with the book. :-)

So what do we do when we don't have an idea on a story? We punt!

As for now, here is the blurb and a teaser for my new book, Healing a Cowboy's Heart. I'll give away a free pdf to three lucky commenters on this blog of Make Mine a Cowboy which is the first in this series, so be sure to leave a comment to win.

Here is the cover and stuff! Enjoy!

Jeffery Young is tired of women and their games. His son’s mother did enough damage to his heart to last a lifetime. Now, he had to deal with the architect helping the land developers tear up the local ranches for their houses. Not on his watch.

Terri Kennedy had her own plans. As the architect for a large land development in Bandera Texas, the deal would put her business on the map, but dealing with the stubborn, bullheaded male from the local ranch didn’t come with her job description. Maybe staying on their guest ranch would give her some clues as how to handle Mr. Stubborn Jackass.

Will the secrets she’s harboring keep him from getting close?

Can he learn to trust women again or should be play the game to find out what’s she’s up to?

Story Excerpt

Jeff hopped out of the truck, slamming the door behind him. “Who the hell are you? What are you doin’ on Thunder Ridge land?”

A petite blonde stood next to a larger guy he recognized from the land surveyors office in town. He noticed right away how her hair caught the sunlight, bouncing it off the curls when she turned to face him. Green eyes the color of spring grass gazed at him behind the small round glasses perched on her nose.

“Excuse me?”

“What are you doin’ on my land?”

“Surveying. What does it look like?”

The woman sounded way too damned perky for his taste. “Who are you?” He turned to face the man from town. “George, what’s goin’ on here?”

“We’re doin’ a land survey, Jeff.” George motioned to the woman next to him. “This here is Terri Kennedy.”

“Nice to meet you.” She held out her hand, but he ignored it with a scowl.

“No one ordered a survey of our land. You don’t need to be on our property.”

“It’s not for Thunder Ridge. It’s for the new development.” George looked uncomfortable as he shifted back and forth on his feet.

“Get the hell off my property,” Jeff snarled. “We ain’t supportin’ the developers takin’ over the ranch land out here.”

“We have a right to use this road to survey the property boundaries. It’s a county road.”

“Not as long as you’re off the blacktop, it ain’t. It’s Young property.”

“Is he correct, Mr. Scott? Is this private property beyond the blacktop?”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“Well then, we shall move to the blacktop area.” She stomped her booted feet as she moved twenty feet up the road. Her curvy little ass bounced with each step, emphasizing the cute roundness much to his chagrin. “Now, we can continue where we left off. I’m sure you can make the adjustments to the measurements.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

The little smirk on her kissable lips drove his anger higher. He didn’t want to notice anything about the woman, but here he stood watching everything about her. “Fuck.”

“Did you say something?”

“No, ma’am. Get your business done and get off this road.”

“You know you don’t have to be so surly. I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m here as the architect for Meyer, Jessup and Cole.”

Jeff moved closer. Something about her pissed him off. Was it the development or her in general? He didn’t care. She needed to leave and leave fast. “Whoever they are.”

“They are the firm handling the land development in this area.”

“We don’t want a damn development here. We have plenty of problems with not enough open land for the wildlife around here. Having houses will take away the natural habitat.”

“I’m sorry, sir, but there isn’t anything I can do about it. I’m only here to make sure the surrounding property the developers bought will be able to handle the architecture they are planning to build.”

“Just get done and get out of here. If you ain’t gone before I get back, I’ll have you arrested for trespassin’.”

“Try it, buddy! We aren’t on your property now.”

“You were lady,” he growled, spinning on his booted heel and heading back to his truck. “Damn infuriatin’ woman. Who the hell does she think she is? This is our property. She doesn’t belong out here in her fancy shit-kickers, her designer jeans or her fancy western shirt. Like her outfit would make her fit in. Ha!”

Adult Excerpt

His cock hard between their straining bodies kicked up her desire to raging. She could feel every inch of him against her stomach. Water clung to his lashes, making them looked like diamonds in the sunlight. The man was beautiful.

Silence stretched between them. She wasn’t sure what to do. She wanted to feel his mouth against her again, feel the heat raging between them. “Kiss me.”

“I shouldn’t.”

“But you want to.”

“Yeah, I do.”

“Then do it.” She sucked in a ragged breath, blowing it out on a sigh. “Afraid?”

He dragged her closer still. “I’m not afraid of you.”

The hard plains of his chest brushed against her peaked nipples. Her whole body ached from wanting to be closer, needing to be closer. “You’re afraid of what you want to do to me. You think because we’re supposed to be enemies, you shouldn’t want to fuck me.”

“I don’t want to fuck you.”

She tossed back her hair and laughed. “Have you got a salami in your pocket then?”

“Fine,” he growled. “I want to fuck you until the sun drops in the western sky. I want to bury myself in your sweet heat and let you scald me until this need for you burns out like a blue flame.”

“Then do it cowboy. Right here, right now.”

He picked her up by the waist and she wrapped her legs around his middle. She wanted this, needed this more than her next breath. Ever since she’d first run into this tortured, lonely man, she’d wanted to hold him, comfort him and fuck him into tomorrow.

The fine gravel lining the edges of the pond bit into her back when he laid her down. His fingers made quick work of the front of her shirt, parting it to reveal her water soaked bra to his gaze. “Beautiful.”

He took her nipple into his mouth, sucking it through the sheer fabric of her bra. Her whole body hummed as he bit the flesh. “Ah, God.” Within seconds, he had her bra open and her breasts revealed to his scorching gaze.

The warmth of the sun quickly dried the water on her skin as he peeled open her jeans. The wet fabric clung to her, making it difficult for him to work his hand into the parted material. A brush of his fingers over her throbbing nub shot her straight into mega arousal. “Please, Jeff.”

“You’re so slick.”

“I want you inside me.” He worked his fingers into her grasping pussy while his thumb worked her clit.

“I want you to come for me.”

“Now? But…”

“You can do it. I feel your body vibrating around my fingers.”

He stroked her clit quickly. Her body shot straight through the buildup to orgasm in seconds flat. Her scream of his name bounced off the rocks around them, drifting off on the wind as she slowly came back down, blinking in surprise at the intensity of her orgasm.

“You’re beautiful when you come.”

Writing cowboys!

Since this blog hop is about westerns, I thought I'd write about writing westerns! Hey, what a concept, huh?

I do love to write westerns. They are my favorite book to right. No, I don't have to do a lot of research on them while I'm writing, because I know cowboys, horses, ranching to some extent and since it's part of who I am, I'm comfortable writing it.

Where do I get my ideas? I get them from everywhere. I hear a song and it'll spark an idea. I see a person at the airport and it'll spark an idea. Many of my stories have come from song titles or pictures. I currently have two pictures on my office wall. One is a group of 9 cowboys. No, they don't all look like they are related, but they sparked the idea for Cowboy Dreamin'. 3 of them look like they could be triplets, thus my triplets in the series, Joel, Jason and Joshua. Only Joel has his own story right now.

That brings me to the other picture on my wall. It's of a guy who is Joel to me. He has the most amazing blue eyes! Wow! I mean really, wow!

Sorry, I can't find the picture on my computer right at the moment.

Anyway, the guys in this series are a complicated bunch. Jeff's the oldest and his story will release in late August called Healing the Cowboy's Heart. Joel's is already out called Make Mine a Cowboy. (which I'm giving away a three signed ebooks to three lucky winners so leave a comment!)

Available at Secret Cravings Publishing, Amazon, B&N, Smashwords, Itunes, Diesel, Bookstrand, All Romance Ebooks and several other ebook retailers near you!

Now for a few questions from me ~

What do you look for in a cowboy romance?

Do you want lots of western stuff in your cowboy romance?

Does the hero have to be a cowboy?

Give me your opinion!

Love you all!

Romancing the Cowboy with Sandy Sullivan!

Who here likes cowboys? *raises hand*
I write both historical and contemporary westerns. Erotic westerns but also sweeter. My historical’s are on the sweet side. To me it wasn’t normal to have them going at it hardcore with a historical background. LOL
Anyway, what do we love about cowboys?
Me. I like the way they talk. The ma’am, darlin’, honey make my panties melt. I also like the way they handle themselves. A real man is tough as nails when it comes to the things he needs to take care of, but is as soft as a fluffy bunny with his lover.
There is something special about the cowboy and I try to capture it in every book I write. I hope I’m getting there if not there already.
What do you like about cowboys?

Comment here to win a copy of my brand new release coming 6/5 called Make Mine a Cowboy. I’m going to put a blurb and excerpt below. I'll pick a winner Monday morning at 8am central time. Good luck!

Enjoy!

A moment later a tap, tap, tap on her window startled her out of her thoughts. She jumped and screamed as a face appeared near her door. Blue eyes with long lashes stared back beneath a black cowboy hat. Black hair ruffled slightly with the wind.
“Ma’am? Are you all right?”
“I’m fine.”
“You need to get this car out of the water. You’ll be washed away. It’s rising fast.”
“I can’t. I’m out of gas.”
“Open the door.”
“Hell, no. Do I look crazy to you?” she asked, her voice shrill with terror.
“Trust me. If I were a serial killer, I wouldn’t be out in this shit trying to find women to abduct. I’m going to help you, but you need to get out of the car first before we’re both swept away.”
Mesa bit her lip. Should she trust him?
“Ma’am?”
“All right.” She eased open the door to find the water almost reached the bottom of the car. The cowboy pulled the door the rest of the way as she grabbed her purse.
“We have to hurry,” he said, offering her a hand to help her from the car. “Let me help you. This water is rushing pretty fast.”
A red horse stood patiently several feet away with its head down, riding out the storm the only way horses knew how. A cowboy on a real horse out here in the middle of nowhere? Surely, it’s safe. I mean serial killers don’t ride horses, right?

Excerpt 2
She stepped aside to allow him into the room. “Just set it on the bed and I’ll unpack it in a minute.” She told him to sit on the edge of the bed as she took a spot between his spread thighs. She exhaled forcibly through her lips so she could focus on the task at hand and not his hard thighs now encasing her lower half. The cut on his lip didn’t look too deep. With her finger inside the cloth, she dabbed at the cut.
“Ouch.”
“Sorry.”
“It’s okay. I know you didn’t mean to hurt me.”
He winced as she dabbed again. It had to hurt, she knew but all she could think about was kissing those full lips. She wanted to see his eyes dark with desire. Feel his hands on her bare flesh. Have those lips on other places of her body like her breasts, her nipples, or her clit.
“You okay?” he whispered, glancing up through those impossibly long eyelashes.
“Yeah.” Her heart pounded behind her ribcage.
“Your pulse is fluttering.”
“I know.”
“Why?” His voice continued in a soft, coaxing tone reminding her of how he spoke to the horse while she gave birth to her foal.
“It’s nothing, Joel.”
“Do you want me to kiss you?”
She closed her eyes and licked her lips. God, do I ever want you to kiss me. More than my next breath. More than a winning lottery ticket. More than…
The next thing she knew, he had twisted her around so she lay flat on the bed with him hovering over her. He bent down and brushed his lips against hers so softly she wasn’t sure if he’d actually kissed her.
“You shouldn’t be doing this.”
“I know.”
He kissed her again, this time with his tongue softly brushing her lips as if to ask for permission to deepen it. Her lips parted of their own accord without her even thinking beyond how his lips felt against hers. The dip of his tongue tore a moan from her mouth. She tangled her hands in the front of his western shirt, wanting nothing more than to remove the barrier between his skin and hers.
The fire burning in her gut prompted her to return kiss for kiss, touch for touch. The caress of his fingers against the side of her breast brought her straight up on the bed, breaking the kiss.

Excerpt:

As the water began rising rapidly she realized she needed to get the hell out of her car before it was washed away. In the distance she could make out several larger rocks. "If I can get on top of them, I should be safe from the rush. Of course, that means I'll be out in the rain getting soaked.” Fear rose, threatening to choke her with the lump in her throat. She rubbed her arms trying to calm the chills while deciding what to do. She really didn’t have much choice. Water ran in rivulets down the windshield. Lightning continued to flash and thunder rolled over the area. She sucked in a large breath as she bit her lip.
A moment later a tap, tap, tap on her window startled her out of her thoughts. She jumped and screamed as a face appeared near her door. Blue eyes with long lashes stared back beneath a black cowboy hat. Black hair ruffled slightly with the wind.

Just Desserts Blog Hop!

Hey all,

I'm not a cook. I'll tell you right now I do the basics to get by, but I have recipe my daughter does that gives you the most fabulous chocolate cookies to die for!

First let me tell you about my newest release. Trouble With a Cowboy is now available at all the major retailers including Amazon, B&N, Bookstrand, ARe, Smashwords, etc. You can read an excerpt below.

Twinsie Book Reviews gives it a 5!

Angie J' s Review:

I received this book from the author for  truthful review.

HEE HAW!!!  Man oh Man was this a great read.  I totally related to Jacie because I too am a very strong willed woman and was defo not looking for love when I met my current husband. I was definatley not looking to get married and all that jazz...been there and done that with a negative result.  Now Jacie was never married but she had her heart broken by an ex boyfriend/business partner.  Her plan was to find a nice piece for the night and move on the next day.  Well Kyle (town jackass) approaches her and she eats him alive.

While all this is happening Tucker sees her and is like "HELLO There Darlin!!"  A little flirting, dancing and pool and then the 2 decided to have a fun night together.  Well damn Kyle for cock blocking Tucker and he is left hawt and alone.  Well Kyle isn't done being a "charmer" and causes more  issues for Jacie.  *drum roll* Tucker to the rescue.  The 2 make a business arrangement that is beneficial for both parties to get to Vegas.  Well business turns to pleasure...lots and lots of pleasure......Guess what kiddos??  They kinda develop feelings for each other.  NO you say?  Yes it is true :)

I love this story. It kept me on my toes and even a little teary eyed at the end.  I was like "Stubborn old bachelor and friggin' independent women!!  Admit the love already!!" I loved the epilogue but I tend to enjoy epilogues.  I think it is a great ending to the couple and you can see what is going to happen.

My fav scenes were in the Vegas hotel when the big boob chick hit on Tucker AND when the horse rider hit on Jacie.  It was classic Jealousy you see seeping out of the others pores!!!  It did give me a giggle.

Lean hips and a bull rider belt buckle blocked her view of the multitude of cowboy boots standing nearby. Her gaze crawled up a flat, chiseled abdomen, across sculpted muscles, over a firm jaw to meet sexy brown eyes.
"What's the frown for, pretty lady?"
She tipped the bottle to her lips to take a long drink, keeping her eyes on the gorgeous man in front of her.
Once she'd swallowed, she said, "Contemplation."
"Huh?"
Great. Probably barely made his way through high school.
"I was trying to figure out how many of them," she nodded to the crowd twirling on the dance floor, "are real."
"Real?"
"Real cowboys or just wannabes."
Brown eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled as he hooked his fingers behind his belt buckle and tilted the shiny metal up. "Mine's real, sweet thing."
"Is it? Where did you win it?"
"National Finals Rodeo last year. Bull ridin'."
"Is that right?" She took another sip of her beer.
"Yeah." The cowboy pulled his shoulders back proudly.
"You know, that's funny. I rode last year. I sure don't remember you. What did you say your name was?"
The man frowned as a trickle of sweat appeared over his lip. "Kyle Fredrick."
"Kyle…" She tipped the bottle to her lips again. "Mmm…nope. I sure don't remember you. You know what else?"
His eyes narrowed as he shifted from foot to foot. "What."
"I have an official belt buckle in barrel racing." She tapped the buckle at her waist with her fingernail, and then pointed toward his. "That's about the worst fake I've ever seen. The real one, honey, is gold with World Champion Bull Rider on the bottom and your name engraved just above that." She stood in front of him so they stood toe-to-toe. "That trinket might work on one of those rhinestone babes out there, but it won't work on me. I know the real thing when I see it."
When the music changed, bathing the bar in silence for a moment, she heard a soft chuckle to her left. Tipping her head, she locked gazes with the guy two stools down. He lifted an eyebrow and tipped his hat as a crooked, half-smile graced his mouth, showing off pearly-white teeth with a dimple in his left cheek. Before she got a good look at the color of his eyes, the cowboy in front of her pulled her attention back to him.
"You're a bitch."
"I've been called that before. You'll have to come up with something more original…Kyle."
With a pissed-off growl, Kyle spun on his heel, disappearing into the crowd farther down the bar. Jacie took her seat again, propping her boot heels on the rung of the chair and tipped the bottle to her lips. Beer slid down her throat in a cool wash of satisfaction.
Moments later, two-stools down cowboy moved one stool closer when the man next to her headed for the door.
Elbows balanced on the bar behind her as the bottle dangled from her fingers, she glanced sideways and her gaze met the prettiest baby blues she'd ever seen. One sweep from the top of his black Stetson and dark hair, over his broad chest and down his yummy torso, told her a lot. A working man. Dusty cowboy boots peeked out from the hem of his jeans.
"Hi," he offered.
"Hi, yourself."
"Name's Tucker." He held out his hand.
She stared at his palm. Calluses. Working hands. Short nails. Clean.
Grasping his hand in hers, she wasn't prepared for the zing of electricity pricking her skin where they touched.
"Jacie."
"Nice to meet you, Jacie."
"You, too Tucker."
"Sorry about that guy."
"Why? Is he a friend of yours?"
A short snort left his mouth. "Not in this lifetime. I'm only hopin' you don't judge the whole lot by him."
"Nah." She smiled and lifted the bottle to her lips again, draining the remaining beer. "He's nothing new. I'm used to his type."
"What type is that?"
"The lay 'em and leave 'em kind. Once he gets between a woman's thighs, he's gone."
The chuckle returned. "Probably right on the money."
"Occasionally, that's not a bad thing, but tonight…not necessarily what I'm looking for."
He leaned closer as the music started again. The spicy, almost citrusy scent of his cologne and virile male mixed with…cattle, reached her nose. Interesting.
"Can I buy you another beer?" he asked, his breath rushing over the shell of her ear.
One shoulder lifted in a shrug. "Sure."
Signaling for the bartender, he stood to pull some money from his front pocket, bringing his chest into close proximity with her shoulder. The heat radiating off his skin sent shivers skittering across her arm, and she fought the urge to rub the flesh to calm the goose bumps.
His tanned hand held a bottle out in front of her.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome." He sipped from his beer, but when he lowered the bottle his eyes found hers again. "What are you doing in Littleton, Oklahoma?"
"Hanging out with you."
"Yeah, right. A babe like you doesn't hang out in small town honky-tonks."
She flinched at his comment as she dropped her gaze to the front of his shirt. "Just passin' through."
"I see. Mysterious. Works for me." He set his beer on the bar behind her. "Care to dance?"
Do I really want those hands on me? Hell yeah!
"Sure." She set her bottle next to his before they headed for the dance floor.
The song changed to a slow ballad causing her to cringe. Slow dancing with this gorgeous, rugged cowboy could send her right between the sheets with him in a heartbeat. Good or bad, she wasn't sure he would be the type to easily walk away from. When she turned, she sucked in a ragged breath before she slipped her hands up around his neck. He settled his palms on her hips. Her heartbeat hitched up a notch and her fingertips itched to run along the solid ridges of his pecs—ridges that came from hard work, not a gym.

Before she could blink, his lips connected with hers. God, he tastes and smells so good. The same feelings of desire and need to get closer that she'd felt the first time he’d kissed her, washed over her. Never in her life had a man overwhelmed her senses like Tucker.
As his tongue swept along her bottom lip, her desire hitched up a notch. She parted her lips and his tongue slid inside as a groan rumbled in his throat. Their tongues met, tangled and swept along each other, tasting, testing, exploring.
She wrapped her hand in the hair at the nape of his neck, knocking his hat to the floor, forgotten in the heat of their passion.
His hands tipped her head to the side to fit their mouths together better. The hardness of his erection pressed into her abdomen. Her clit throbbed to the rhythm of her racing heart. Blood rushed in her ears and saliva pooled in her mouth. His lips left hers to trace a path across her cheek to her ear. Hot breath singed her skin. The stroke of his tongue to the sensitive spot below her earlobe had her shivering. Soft moans and intimate whimpers of want and need left her lips. His palm slipped down her side to cup her breast. Her nipples tightened into achy nubs, begging for his touch.
"Tucker," she whispered.
He lifted his head to stare at her, his gaze intense. The blue of his eyes seemed almost swallowed by the black of his pupils. "Tell me you want this."
"God, yes. I haven't been able to think of anything else since we met."
"I'm glad I'm not alone."
Her craving for him spiked hard as he swept his thumb along her bottom lip. "I love the feel of your skin under my hands."
"Touch me."
"Oh, I plan to. Everywhere."
The snaps on his shirt gave way with little more than a sharp tug. Belt buckle and jeans disappeared once he’d shucked his boots, but his black boxers did nothing to hide his impressive length from her gaze.
"Oh my." She grazed his cock with the tip of her fingernail. A throaty moan came from deep in his chest.
"Not fair."
"Mmm? Why?"
"You still have too many clothes on."
"Well, we’ll have to rectify the situation shortly then, huh."
"You bet, darlin'. I wanna see if the real thing is anything like my imagination."
Trepidation raced down her spine with the memory of her ex’s words. "You don't know how to be a woman, Jacie. You'll never be anything more than a tomboy trucker who gets her jollies behind the wheel of a big rig. They say men compensate with big toys. You don't know how to turn a man on." Tucker obviously thought she was woman enough to satisfy him. Didn't he?
"Hello, Jacie. Come on back, honey. Don't leave me hangin' here," Tucker said, skimming his thumb across her nipple even though her shirt kept them from skin-to-skin contact.
"Sorry."
"Where'd you go? Your eyes got all glassy. I know it wasn't from my touch."
"Something someone said to me once just got in the way for a minute. That's all."
"It must have been unpleasant judging by your frown," he murmured. The pressure of his hand on her breast never lessened while his thumb continued to massage her nipple.
"Let's not talk about it. All right? I need this. I need you," she said against his mouth.
"My pleasure, darlin'. I want everythin' from you."
Both hands grasped the bottom of her shirt to pull it over her head.
"Nice." He sighed, making her almost believe he liked what he saw.
Two fingers flicked the clasp of her bra sitting between her breasts and it fell at their feet.
Shivers raced down her arms at the heat in his eyes. Her nipples tightened. Her clit throbbed. Both knees wobbled, almost giving out except for his grip on her waist.
"God, you're beautiful," he whispered as his fingers danced along her ribs.
Her breath rushed from between her lips in a heavy sigh. Maybe he does like what he sees.
He pulled her tight against him. Skin-to-skin, breast to chest, and everything in between touched, molded, and she felt the rush of desire she couldn't control. His lips brushed against her shoulder before they worked their way up to her neck. She tipped her head to the side as a soft whimper escaped her lips when he nipped at the sensitive skin.
"So soft."
Good Lord, the man knows how to make my body sing. "Please."
"Please what, darlin'. Tell me what you want.”
"Lick me. I want your tongue."
"Where?"
"Everywhere you can reach. Eat me up."
A soft chuckle left his mouth. His eyes smoldered with his own need. Her knees hit the bed and then they tumbled backward across the mattress in a tangle of arms and legs, much to the disgruntlement of her cat.

2nd Anniversary Post

** My port of call is Belize**

Hi all,

Thanks for stopping by my blog for the 2nd Anniversary contest with Secret Cravings Publishing. You know I never know what to put on these things so I guess I'll just ramble a bit.

You all know I write cowboys. I do love them, you know. There's just something about the way they are. They make me all tingly and stuff. :-) One of these days I'm going to get to go to Vegas during National Finals Rodeo and just soak up the atmosphere. I've written about it enough times and yes, I've been there during the 2 weeks they have it going on, but I haven't went to the events. The cowboys take over Vegas during those 2 weeks in December and let me tell you...yummy!

I would also like to go there for the PBR World Finals. They do those in October. Maybe this year I'll make the trek and see it for myself.

What do you like about cowboys? What is about them that makes them so great to write about? Do you like to read cowboy romances? They seem to be good sellers as long as you get someone who knows how to write them. I hope I'm one of those. All writers have their niche and mine are cowboys. I do own horses and love to ride when I can. I don't get to do it as much as I'd like, but boy are my two spoiled! They are great pets but they eat a lot and they take work to maintain them such as shots, worming, cutting their hooves.

I spent 4 days at a dude ranch in San Antonio this past August. It was a fantastic experience! It totally renewed my energy and sparked a new series I'm doing called Cowboy Dreamin'. The first one will be out in spring of this year with a little luck. I need to buckle down and get busy. Joel (that's the name of the hero) is impatiently banging his spurs on the side of my desk as we speak. He and Mesa are going to get into a lot of trouble from what it sounds like. She's a romance writer who's lost her inspiration until she meets him. :-P I know. I'm evil to whet your appetite like that!

Leave a comment to win your choice of any of my available book! I'll chose a winner on Monday morning.

Anyway, off to write. Enjoy the little snippet of the book and the sexy cover!

Water ran in rivulets down the windshield. Lightning continued to flash and thunder rolled over the area. She sucked in a large breath as she bit her lip. What the hell do I do now?
A moment later she heard a tap, tap, tap on her window. She jumped and screamed as a face appeared near her door. Green eyes with long lashes stared back beneath a black cowboy hat. Black hair ruffled slightly with the wind.
"Ma'am? Are you all right?"
"I'm fine."
"You need to get this car out of the water. You'll be washed away. It's rising fast."
"I can't. I'm out of gas."
"Open the door."
"Hell no. Do I look crazy to you?"
"Trust me. If I were a serial killer, I wouldn't be out in this shit trying to find women to abduct. I'm going to help you, but you need to get out of the car before we're both swept away."
Mesa bit her lip. What the hell was she supposed to do now?
"Ma'am?"
"All right." She eased open the door to find the water almost to the bottom. The cowboy pulled the door the rest of the way as she grabbed her purse.
"We have to hurry," he said, taking her hand as he helped her from the car. "Let me help you. This water is rushing pretty fast."
A red horse stood patiently several feet away with its head down, riding out the storm the only way horses knew how. A cowboy on a real horse out here in the middle of nowhere? Surely, it's safe. I mean serial killers don't ride horses, right?
